Hey Brittany,
Just wanted to know how the turtle has been. I live in TX, and I had had turtle for many years, since I found it in my backyard when it was about the size of a quarter! Try feeding your turtle lettuce, carrots, the purple tuna(looks more like a potato) from cactus, and grass from your backyard. My turtle especially loved the tuna! What did you name it? Well, I hope you read this soon, and good luck with the turtle, take good care of it and you will have a pet for life!

: I live in Michigan where the summeres aren't too warm, and the winters are very cold...this summer, i found what appears to be a Texas Tortoise on the side of the road, with the help of an FFA teacher, we
: ve came up with it being a Texas Tortoise, I recently found out that the person who used to own this tortoise, goes to my school, i have had it for about 1 month now, and it seems to like apples.I was wondering, that if i sent you a picture of my tortoise, if you'de be able to specicify it as a Texas Tortoise, or other, no it isn't a box turtle, i thought that's what it was at first, till i found out it has a lumpy /rigid shell, and not a smooth flat surface...he also has what appears to be a "neck rest" under his chin...please write back as soon as possible, thanks, Brittany
