In 1998 some Parrot-beaked tortoise came into the country. I bought 3 pairs. We moved to Mendoza Argentina and in the next 8 years we hatched 20+ babies. I kept them outside and let them hibernate, because I didn't have enough room inside once they began to reproduce.
They are not all that easy to keep healthy, but their needs are much like a Greek tortoise. They need a lot more room than even a much larger tortoise because they stress easy and seem to always be in a hurry.
They also seem prone to skin problems and no one seems to know just why or what to do about it. I had a 90 percent survival rate on the babies.
They are almost impossible to find now days and are super expensive if you do.
