Our tort was sick and the vet gave him a shot and somehow punctured through into his lung so he started bubbling blood. It was really scary! However he cleared up over a few days and it went away and he's fine. I'd worry more if it didn't coagulate.
: Hi,
: I'd get that tortoise to a vet ASAP, that is NOT normal, the only tortoises I have ever seen with nosebleeds have been because of
: 1. Trauma (getting hit by a car, for example)
: 2. Foreign object
: 3. Something growing in there that should not be....
: Get an x-ray at the bare minimum...to rule out any type of growth, etc.
: Tortoise may also have some type of a clotting problem....and oif there is a foreign object up in the sinuses, it needs to come out!
: : I have an African Spur thigh tortuise. He seems to have a nose bleed, he has had it for a couple of days. Its not a constant bleed but it comes every so often. Does anyone know if this is a serious problem or not?
