Right now all the torts. (leopards, spurs, and redfoots) are in the stock tanks in a well heated room. I'm using thermo. controlled pipe tape heating devices taped up with duck tape on the bottom of the metal stock tanks. The tanks are off the floor using concrete building blocks. I'm also using heat spot lights attached to the rim of the stock tanks. Did same thing last year and my spurs bred and had 17 neoantes hatch out. THEY do get out doors through the spring, summer, and fall. I don't use any artificial full spectrum during the winter but I do use vitamins. I havn't had any problems just as long I remember to ocassionly soak everybody. They have the hot spots and the cool zones. Some of the breeder sized torts. are making use of the cool zones as I'm posting now.

: I hate to generalize, but the people in CA, TX, FL, and AZ seem to think that keeping Sulcata's anywhere but their states is foolhardy. I would like to know if anyone keeps sulcata's in the Midwest, and if so, how they are kept, and how they fare. I have a sulcata that is small, about 7 inches, but I think I have the wherewithal to care for it, even in Nebraska. I just want to know if anyone else keeps adult sulcata's (or possibly leopards) in non-temperate climes.
