Russian tortoise for a pet

Dear Tortoise Forum,

HI! My name is Jenna and my boyfriend wants to buy two russian tortoises (I think that it's mean to only have one). We already have two red-eared sliders, and they turned out to be much more work and money than anticipated. I have little doubt that it's the same story with tortoises. Can somebody give me information on what supplies will be needed throughout the life span of these tortoises? I bought a 80 gallon tank for my RES's, and it is now useless to me because it turns out that it is not safe to hold water in (nobody will reseal it for us). Would this be an ok home? All help is greatly appreciated!!!!!
