Many of you know that I have two red foots, a male and a female that have been together for about three years now. He is 31 and she is around 9 or 10. They have free reign over the back yard which is set up as a tropical rock garden. They have mated and she even has laid two seperate clutches within the last three months. However, yesterday I found him pinned up against a wall on his side and she was trying to bite his feet. I moved them and she then tucked in her head and bulldozed him. Seperated them again and she went up in the rock garden to find him and he had had enough at this point and went after her with his mouth wide open! Needless to say, I seperated them, they are in totally different yards now. Any ideas as to what could cause this type of behavior? I am afraid to put them back together! They could really hurt one another.
