I'm not sure about the Galapagos Island Saddle Back tort, but Indian Stars and some leopard tortoises can have an adverse reaction to baytril, meaning they can have a reaction to it along the lines of an allergic reaction. One of my Indian Star babies arrived with a respiratory infection. The vet prescribed baytril even though I told him I thought I'd read that Indian Stars can react to it. It did react, foaming at the mouth and running around like its little leg was burning. It did not die but I went back to the vet after corresponding with some tortoise people who had more knowledge (and my vet is known for his knowledge of reptiles and tortoises and such!)
If I see a post from someone with an Indian Star saying that their tortoise is sick, I usually warn them about adverse reactions to baytril.
