I had a follow up fecal exam done on Teddy today as the one
we routinely did recently was somewhat inconclusive. Last
month on his exam (which I have done maybe every 6 months
usually), there was "something" which didn't identify as
a regular reptile worm egg. It was possibly a "pseudo-parasite"
or a fake, something like an egg from a grasshopper that he
may have picked up from the grass and it passed through him.
The test today was completely negative, so that's probably
what it was. Had it appeared again, or still been inconclusive
we would have forwarded another sample to the vet school here
in NC.
Just wanted to share that, the "pseudo" parasite thing was new
to me, though it makes sense. I appreciate my vet taking such
interest and care of my tortoise. niki
gotta go deal with the trickertreaters now! lol
