Last week my tortoise stopped eating, started slowing down and
quit basking. Assuming he wanted to hibernate I took him
into the vet for a health OK before letting him sleep. We
found out that he had worms, which they treated him for. He was
299 grams (underweight for hibernation) and was 79 degrees. They
said his main problem is that he's too cold. Hibernation is now
out of the question. $280 later after building him an enclosure,
lighting, beding and heating him up he's still not eating. The vet
said Tuesday is his doom day. If he's not eating by then we must
suringe feed. I can't stand the thought. I've tried red veggies,
tortoise pellets, hand feeding.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO???????
Please help
Jan
