the retail chain that is often blasted for the way they keep, give out wrong info, ect. on tortoises. I visted one over the weekend and found what everyone said about this retail chain true. One of the employees said that the drop in price on Russian tortoises was because they were not moving at the regular price and they had problems with the tortoises being in the store for the length of time. He knew they were imported and said very little info on the species was thrown out to any employee. He was trying to tell perspective customers the hows and whys but like he said, he wasn't there much (being a part timer). This is the wording and add in the Sunday paper that promoted the sale of Russians:> save $40, Russian Tortoises $29.99. They will become quite tame with handling. They eat vegetables and fresh fruits daily. (good point on the next)> But be ready for a long term commitment.
Yes, I saw some closed eyes, bubbling noses, wet eyes, ect. Not all were in bad shape though. Now what do you think ? I have my opinions but I will wait for some sub-post.
