I found a 6" long snake, on 8th Ave just south of 39th St. last week. He was dead, though. I don't know what kind it was, I don't know snakes. He may have come out of Greenwood Cemetary 2 blocks away, or maybe out of the train yard that is right there. That was the first snake I saw in "the wild" in Brooklyn.

: living in brooklyn ny found tortoise/turtle ? looks like egyptian but more orange markings on legs and head. shell very round brownish-orange. aprox 8" long and 5" high. what to feed him ? keeping him outside with sun and shade , fresh water , area aprox 30s/f tree branches, rocks, small stump for climbing
