That egg might be viable, don't give up on it!
Tortoises can store sperm for a number of years, length of time depends on the species, but typically for at least 2 years if not longer.

Yep, she must be a happy kid if she laid an egg, especially if she went through all of the motions of nest digging, etc.

I know this means a lot, especially knowing her history....congrats! Even if it is not viable...that's OK.

Treat it as if it is, and don't toss it till it either collapses or explodes. Make sure there is adequate humidity for it, switch to vermiculite as a substrate when you have a chance to get some, mix it with water until damp, keep a sponge or a little cup of water in with it to keep humidity up...and make sure it is in the dark, but is at the temp you're keepng it at.

Question.....was she wanting to consume more calcium than normal? Toss a cuttlebone in her enclosure to see if she goes for it...she just might. If she has other embryos she is trying to "shell" she will need it. :-)
