I got the 100 watt bulb flood type. The enclosure is 4 sides with bottom, no top. It is about 3ft x 4ft. The tortoises are hatchlings. I just got home from work and noticed that one was asleep under the light, but seems fine. I have the light about 12 inches from the substrate like they suggested. I know if I move it further away I will loose some of the uvb. I do have a lamp that has a metal top, should I take that off?
