Once again, animal protein should not be fed to grazers. Now plant protien is another matter. Protien is necessary for growth. Fiber is a form of protien. This is why I say don't even consider protein content any more than you would consider any other single component. We do not know how much protien is required for proper growth. So the way around this is to provide balance through variety.
