My guess is that this pet shop was not getting Kinixys belliana, but rather K. erosa or K. homeana, and they just didn't realize what they were getting. It is strange though how Bell's hingebacks have gone from a "why would you want a bell's hingeback" to boy, i'd really like to get a bell's hingeback" tortoise in just about two years after the importation ban

: From a post a few weeks ago, I asked about these tortoises. I've got lots of e-mails about them and have given out names and numbers to the person getting them in, but since they are, "apprently," illegal to import, I'm not going to be giving out the information any more.
: I realize there is a black market for reptiles, but this place isn't a black market. It's a pet shop, and I wouldn't have thought they would import ??endangered?? reptiles.
