: A few times while playing with my sulcatta hatchling I have noticed what is the equivelent of one tear come out of one of this eyes. Is this something I should worry about?? I didn't know if I was just being an overprotective mommy or what, but I would rather be safe than sorry. Thanks
It's ok to be an overprotective mom. Is it's eye closed or swollen? Their eyes do tear sometimes. It is a cleansing feature of the little critter. We found our eight year old male sulcata Monday evening with his left eye very damp and closed. Called the vet and it was suggested that we rinse his eye with saline solution used for contacts. Within hours whatever it was rinse out and his eye is fine. If your baby's eye isn't closed or swollen I wouldn't worry, but watch it.
