A good practice is to soak the animal everyday if you can. By doing so you will keep it hydrated ( G. Sulcata may not drink water) and it will also learn to deficate when you do this in the water, keeping your area clean. By doing this you are also bonding with your tortoise, I've used this method for many years and it is a good way to get them used to being handled, plus it relieves them in the future if they need to be handled and seen by a vet they have great memories. I would recommend doing it if you can. Anthony
