What I saw was not a worm, after talking with many tort and turt owners/keepers, I found out what I saw was the male reproductive organ... Boy what a shocker to me.. Good thing I did not tug on it to remove it. He had just gotten done passing some urates, and I turned him over to dry him off, and that is when I saw it...
He still has a low appetite and that concerns me, but he is coming along...
When he makes significant progress, I will let everyone know.
I don't think he has those parasites, but I will ask the vet about it.
Thanks
Leslie
: that seems to be a concern in a lot of the care sheets i've been reading.
: if you have seven years of breeding experience with them, then i would certainly welcome your advice on their general care and diet....i myself recently acquired a pair and the female eats avidly, but the male does not....i have treated both for worms, both have good weight and very alert eyes and no external parasites
