In Reply to: Still Worrying about my Russian posted by Leslie on October 17, 2000 at 11:19:38:
I just found out that what I thought may have been a worm, or an organ, may just very well have been his reproductive organ. How possible is that?
It was sorta pink like an organ and it didn't move. Could very well have been?? Whatcha think?
Let me know what you think?
Thanks...
Leslie
: All you guys have been so helpful with advising me on my Russian, so
: if you don't mind I have a question to ask and get your opinion
: on... Please?
: If you would be so kind to respond with yours.
:
: What does it take to rid these little guys of worms. Aladar has had
: two wormings in a 4 week period and...
: Last night when I was soaking him, I turned him over to dry him, and
: I saw what looked like a worm (light pink tape worm type thing). I
: took the paper towel to grasp this thing and thought I had it, when I
: opened the towel up there was nothing there. I don't know if
: this
: was a worm or part of his intestines or what. I am truly concerned
: that if it was a worm (it didn't seem to be moving) that the
: worming
: is not working.
: Also, his shell, and I don't know if this is normal or not. It
: seems
: a little like it may be peeling just in a couple spots (not much
: –
: but I am wondering – is this normal, due to not enough or too
: much
: calcium (vit D) I do give him vit supplements (RepCal with Vit D
: and 2:1 – with Vita A). Maybe he scratched something outside
: when he
: was cruising around.
:
: On Sunday, I took him out in the sun when the weather hit 60 some (&
: warmer in the direct sun), and he grazed a little on some drying
: weeds. First time I saw him graze in awhile. I was happy with the
: interest. He also cruised the yard (without trying to find a burrow
: spot immediately for a good hour). Last night I took him out (maybe
: a little too late cause the sun was not so bright and he just wanted
: to burrow, so I took him in and soaked him.
:
: This worm thing is causing me major concern... Should I be worming
: him at home too? I did buy RidWorm, but I have not used it yet,
: because the Drs did treat him for worms. He is still not eating the
: food I give him daily. And that is one of the major concerns about
: this worming. If he still has worms, then he probably will NOT want
: to eat.
:
: What is to be expected from the wormings. Is what I am seeing
: normal, or should I get him wormed again?
: I am tiring of this thing and want to be rid of this problem, but I
: don't know how?
: Worried.
: Thanks.... Leslie
