It gets pretty cold here at night in the winter. About the same as what you describe. A few times it has even got below freezing & there was ice on the car glass. Normally it gets around the 40s & 50s at night & then warms up conciderably during the day. I have some mediteranian tortoises (Marginated & Greeks) that sort of "half hibernate". They seem to go down, but then come out on nice afternoons sometimes & bask & sometimes will eat & drink. They just slow wayyyyy down.
