EJ- I think your Farenheit temps may be a bit off. Don't you mean 82-86F or so? That matches the Celius temp range of 28-30. I believe that much over 85 or 86 may be a little hot for redfoots. I ran mine last year at 84 and had one split scute out of 10 hatchlings, probably due to high temps. I just wanted to pipe up in case someone read the Farenheit temps and set the incubator at 90.
As far as fertile eggs go. By this time (over 1 month since laying) the first clutch should have blood rings showing when candled if they are fertile and developing. (But then again, you may not see anything. So don't toss the egg until it hatches or explodes).
: : I'll bet some if not all hatch.
: : I keep my eggs on vermiculite 25:75 by weight water:vermiculite. Covered (rubbermaid shoe box)(will hold 10, 2 inch eggs) with 1/8 inch airholes. Six on the long side, 2 on the short. The eggs are half covered. The box is a little over half filled. General incubation temps are 86-90F (28 - 30 C).
