You can keep a hatchling sulcata indoors very successfully for about 4 years. Then it will probably be big enough for the challange to begin.
For lighting I highly recomend Active UV Heat lamps. They are a full spectrum incandescent lamp. I have had some very interesting results using these lamps. Vary the diet as much as possible and you can't go wrong. You can achieve this very well using store bought greens as well as weeds and grasses.
