It's "Sulcata" not "Sulcatta" just so we don't perpetuate more confusion. There is the African Spurred Tortoise (Geochelone Sulcata) and then there is the Mediterranean Spur-Thigh Tortoise (Testudo Graeca). Many people erroneously call the Sulcata a "Spur-Thigh" tortoise just because they have spurs also..but that is the incorrect name for them. The Spur-Thigh is the Greek Tortoise. It's just confusing because they are similar names and then people never take the time to correct things and then the name gets used for the wrong tortoise. The only real damage is if someone looking for a Spur-Thigh gets sold or given a Sulcata...that could be a problem.
