Ouch!
I'm glad to hear from very concerned Tort. people. I should have been more informative about what I have for Tawny & Talawny.
I have five acres and hope to finish their outdoor facilty by winter. But I feel they are to young for such right now while unsupervised.
They do have free run of 30x75 outdoors during the day. And so far they have checked it all out, for only having them for three days now. A tub with a screen (birds) and shelter for when I can't keep an eye on them.
The 5.5 tank was for transport home and quarantine. I was planning to use the 55 gal. tank for indoors until I felt they would be safe for moving outdoors. I was not aware of the, "glass stress factor." I've decided to construct a pen in the 8'x3' nook in my den instead of using the glass acquarium, Thanks!
I found a thread in a forum that advises a three month quarantine. Is this also for Sulcata's?
I don't know about Talawny being "ill." She has a good appetite, firm dark fiberous feces and a "happy go attitude," when she's out running around. I just felt that Talawny sleeps more than Tawny when basking. Is this normal?
I have an excellent Rep. Vet for my Terrapene Carolina., and will have her check Talawny out.
I am new to this forum, only my second post. I do appreciate everyones input and knowledge. Thanks for all the help!
Mark
