Terri,
Do what I did when I fed Ted from a clay saucer,
turn it over, look at my site "My Tortoise" and
you can see pics. of him. If he flipped over in
that, it's a hazard, poor little fellow. Look
at Theo's baby bowl and feed him like that.

(Be glad it wasn't a water bowl!) I use really
shallow water bowls, that are wider on bottom than
at top and allow very easy access. I do see my
sulcata drink (in the mornings sometimes, when he
thinks I'm taking a shower and don't see him! lol)
out of his bowl.

Usually, they would die for example if they flipped
in the boiling sun and couldn't right themselves.
