WOW!!! Guess it is a good thing that my boys, ages 6 and 5, like the turtles and torts, since they will probably still be around when the boys are adults!!!
All of the turtles/torts belonged to my grandmother who has had them since who knows when, but she never marked them so didn't know who was who. We have found shells periodically over the years, but don't know how old they would have been. I have since marked all boxies and keep track of them for health reasons and also to learn their personalities. So far this year we have 7 boxie hatchlings and my husband keeps saying "population control" and I used the excuse that the adults will gradualy die off, so don't worry about the babies! Guess I should not let him know of the life expectancy!! LOl
My male redfoot is 31, so I guess he is still a youngin' and the female is only around 10, so she is a just a kid.
