: : I just got to thinking about something. How did you build your outdoor pen? if it can go through a wood fence like that...... what do you use??
: Karl is too big for a pen, he has the run of the North side of the back yard that has a fence much like the one in the picture, with an additional 3ft high fence surrounding the inside of that section of the yard. His area is about 40 x 80 sq. feet to roam and graze with a Tort House I built for him that is sealed from moisture and has a substrate of topsoil. He also has a shed he can refuge under to get away from the heat that is in a cool area of that part of the yard.
: What happend in that picture, if you will notice through the fence the grass is high and is on the south side of the yard and is accessable only if you go through 2 sliding glass doors which is our back porch that is enclosed with a hot tub. We put him on that side of the yard to graze when we can watch him. One of my girls went out to see him and left one of the sliding glass doors open. He walked in, opened the other door ( oh yeah, they are REAL smart) Went out and started grazing and then noticed the world on the other side of the fence and decided to visit it. Good thing a passerby saw him and knocked on our door mumbling and pointing something about a dinosaur ( I still think the poor guy is in therapy..lol). Karl Kruizer really commands alot of attention when he is spotted by people. I mean could you imagine seeing this walking down you side walk?
