I know that importer-exporter in Europe export many many Testudo spp from Europe and all with paper saying that they are F2-generation. But iti is not the case and of course all the imported Testudo from pet shop are illegal (because only F1 generation and also, the CITES paper have to be done!!! But not for F2...).
But in the opposite, we don't become any Terrapene here and they are about 500$ per animal by private here (and I only found 3 males in 5 years around Europe!!!).
This is the thing : we export illegaly thousand Testudo and we don't become any Terrapene vs them!!! Those are your laws...
So, USA import milions animals per year for very cheaper prices and we don't become any animal : for example, I know nobody that have imported Pyxis spp in Europe and about 1'000 were imported this year in USA!!!
I don't think that it is better than Chinese people that eat them, because I only know few people breedinf their animals!!!
