buying herps at a reptile show is ok if you do your homework before you go. If you have a particular animal in mind then read all you can find about it. Look for a healthy animal and yes, by all means, take it to a vet for a check-up. Will some vendors lie to you? probably. Buying at a herp show is less risky than a pet shop in my opinion. One indication of c.b./wild is cost. Wild caught animals are often cheaper than cb animals. Hope that helps
