:Really good advice!! But I would like to add that many people never hibernate their Russian torts. And when you soak yore tortoise he will most likely defficate in he water, this is totally normal. I agree about his age being somewhere around six years. As for his sex- the tail of a male is longer and thicker. When my tortoise walks his tail is able to touch the ground, although he mostly keeps it tucked up in his shell. Also, the bottom shell (the plastron) is concave in the rear part. this makes it easier for the male to mount the female during mating.
