Jason,
The photo of the 500 T.horsfieldi on your website was most certainly NOT from a shipment to the U.S.A. but from a shipment from Poland to Hong Kong, confiscated in the Netherlands on 23 July 1990. They do have a foodmarket in Hong Kong.
The 511 M.tornieri shipment represents a typical case of an ILLEGAL shipment. This shipment
(March 1991) was sent from Tanzania with forged CITES documents.
Furthermore, the photo of a crate of tortoises and chameleons on your website under "reg's on shipping tutles" shows tortoises that are possibly being shipped under IATA regulations but the chameleons in the same picture are certainly not.
Olaf
: The IATA rules you speak about are posted on my "Reg's on shipping turtles" page also on that page are the photo of shipments shipped the way they are supposed to be, every photo on my site was of animals being inported to the US, DO WE HAVE A FOOD TRADE HERE? the only ones from a foreign country was a shipment intercepted in Amsterdam that was in bound to the US, next time before you post stuff why dont you read what you are talking about, can we say open mouth incert foot
