though as of right now both "normal" Redfoots, and Cherryheads are listed as Geochelone carbonaria, i would not be surprized if they are pronounced as a subspecies. true Cherryheads will have a very dark, or black, plastron only slightly bordered by a lighter yellow. Redfoots have a yellow/orange plastron somtimes with a darker spot in the center. this differance can be seen from hatching. also, Cherryheads usually develope a high ammount of bright red all over thier face as adults (though i have seen some that hardly exhibit any red at all). either variety are great to work with. enjoy :)

: ok i am thinking about getting a pair of tortoises and i was wondering, what if any is the difference between redfoots and cherry heads? and also was wondering if any of you guys could possibly suggest and info page or perhaps a breeder?
