My male star tortoise was kept in the sink .The outlet for the
dishwasher is at the sink.My tortoise's skin tail has got burnt
by hot water and about 1 cm has got peeled off.The tail has
also got swollen. His nose is pinkish now(it is not so usually)
.Some soap water(cascade) may have been swallowed.
We have applied framcetin to the tail and given it an injection
of Enrofloxacin 10% 0.05 ml diluted to 1.5 ml by sterile distilled
water. The injection was given half in front leg and half in
hind leg subcutaneously.
His weight is around 400-500 gms
We live in India .Here vets have almost no knowledge of Tortoise,
Reptilies.
The injection was given by a vet based on the recommendation
for pneumonia in A.C.Highfields book to prevent infection.
Which anti-inflamatory, non-steroidal medication can be given ?
Harshad.
