I have 2 Sulcata's in Jacksonville Florida and they are doing just fine. You need to keep them dry and in an arid enclosure. They have adapted to this environment very well, you just need to make sure they aren't in a cold and damp environment and they should be fine. With all the rain we have been having I have been worried about my 50lb male, but he is smart enough to get out of the rain, or he will toss mud up on himself to cool of when it does. Since the rains are in the warm season it doesnt seem to have an ill effect on him. Your biggest concern in the southeast is housing them durning the cold months.
