: I was at a local Herp society meeting in my area some 3 months back. At the meeting was a couple selling 2 African Spurred Tortoises ( under the heading of "spur thigh" which is a common name for them in the south) that were 100% black. They did not look like G. Sulcata to me upon 1st inspection, so I studied them and they surely were. I'm actually sorry I didn't buy them because I'm sure I will never see that again.
