This are fotos taken by me in Venezuela (Anzoategui State) in 1988, the year of the infamous Caracazo.
This was in the house of some friend's friends. The tortoises were kept in the yard, and occasional natural breeding occurs. See a baby on top of a big male. Most of the tortoises found in that area were males.
Note that the habitat is quite dry, like a savanna with cactus and xeric trees.
This is the tortoise that I know as Yellow Head Redfoot, "Carbonaria de Cabeza Amarilla" in Spanish.
I don't work with this specie, only with arid zone african ones.
