I'm glad you posted again because I know you did alot of research and thinking before you got your tort. Like everyone else, I have to agree that your tort is wild caught and you were lied to. Because the Petsmart employee knows the torts come from a 'Reptile broker' within the states, they may believe that the tort is sourced within the states. That's not the case. Anyway, your tort definitely needs a fecal check for parasites because the chance of him carrying them is very high. How about contacting herp vets in your area and explaining that your funds are limited (if your mom won't help to pay for the visit), but you want to do the right thing. Can they help you? Or allow you to pay in small monthly payments?
Like someone else suggested, it might be less stressful on your tort, if when you pick him up, you put him in a small box to carry him inside. They don't enjoy the feeling of no support, or *flying.* Keep up the offering of good foods. Torts can last quite a while without eating, but you have seen him eating, so maybe he's just slowly adjusting to his new home.
