Saw this re: respiratory disease in torts. (CTTC)
_____________________________________________________________
"In 1988, desert tortoises at the Desert Tortoise Natural Area, Kern County, California were seen with clinical signs of illness similar to that of captive desert tortoises. Signs included a mucopurulent discharge from the nares, puffy eyelids, eyes recessed into the orbits, and dullness to the skin and scutes. Based upon these clinical signs, the term Upper Respiratory Disease Syndrome (URDS) was used to characterize this syndrome."

Now I have a question: Only twice (and about a month apart from each instance) I saw little bubbles (Keep in mind: Clear/Tiny and not many and - only for a moment) coming from my torts eyes after a nap.
I haven't seen them but those two times and not for a about 1 1/2 weeks. Could something be irritating his eyes. or is this something more serious:
Also Keep in mind: His Eyes are CLEAR
NO discharge from nose
NO Wheezing or trouble breathing
No sunken in or swollen eyes.
So what am I dealing with here. Took him to the vet only a month ago... Should I call her about this - or just watch him.
Eating and Pooping normally. And being hydrated and supplemented on a regular basis... Eating good greens and such... as I have been recommended...
Weather here has been mostly hot and dry.
Any input?
Thanks
Lesie
