I'm sitting here thinking why and how anyone could to respond to such a post. But then I got the following idea.
A pet is usually a form of teaching a young person caring and responsibility. Now that your dad is well aware of what is involved with caring for these fantastic giants he should appreciate your diligence and responsibility for caring for such and animal not to mention your obvious affection for the big guy/gal. He should actually appreciate the work you put into taking care of the animals (that is assuming you are taking care of the animals and not blowing off other responsibilities)
(geez, that makes me feel old)
