In Reply to: Yellow Foot laid 5 eggs...Now what???!!! posted by Christine on August 21, 2000 at 20:17:07:

: OK!!! She did it!!! My yellow foot laid 5 eggs tonight!!! Now, I need your advice. I live in Key West, so we are tropical. It is 90 in the day, and 80 at night. They are kept in a large yard that has rock gardens and that is where the eggs are laid. I piled up some dirt and spagnum, since the ground is pretty hard with roots. What is the best chance for these eggs to produce some babies? If I leave them in the ground, I can put wire around the area to keep them confined if they hatch. If I remove, I need info on how to incubate. I am sooooo excited!!! For those of you who may not know, I inherited these guys from my grandma who passed away in April. The male tort is 31 years old, he is only 6 weeks older than me. So this is a very sweet occasion!!!
: Thanks to all!!!
: Christine
