: : Today it stormed and I ran outside to bring in my sulcata tort from the harsh weather (it was a really bad storm). I brought him and put him in the kitchen with us (where he stays during the winter). I went back to fixing supper and was standing at the stove and bam, he charged me and ran right into my ankle. Wow what a punch a 25 lbs tort can pack. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry because it did hurt alot. He just turned around and walked the other way, so I had to laugh. After that we sat down and had a banana together. Just goes to show you, wear shoes when Dozer is in the house...lol. Just felt the need to share tonight.

: Been there and felt that! OUCH is right. When we brought home our 27 pound male, he rammed our daughter right off the bat and bruised her leg good, but turned right around and ate a hibiscus flower from her hand. She stays away from him. When he tries to ram my husband, the tort gets no satisfaction. My husband stands his ground and after seeing that he gets no response he moves on. I think they do it to show that they are strong and nobody can push them. We have a small sprinkler that is a tortoise and when we turn it on, Tonka loves ramming it and pushing it around the lawn. He also rams and pushes a soccer ball around the yard.
