: Hello,
: I have been doing some research into getting a tortoise. I will be living in an apartment for a min. of two more years. Does anyone have any suggestions for a tortoise that will do well in an apartment and would be good for a begginer? Plus, do you know of any good breeders? Thank you.

i've had both aquatic turtles and tortoises in my apartment for the last several years. both are great prviding you give them the requirements that they need. i now have two tortoises and one box turtle living in an apartment. i bought a baby easten box two years ago and he's doing great then i bought a baby red footed tort knowing how big it will get and its doing great. i saved a russian tort from a petsmart last november and she is also in great shape. i plan to move into a house within the next two years and build outdoor enclosures for all of them. i try to let them outside as much as possible before i have to go to work on second shift. if yo can't provide what they require now then wait until you can .
