Give your new guy some time to adjust. Russians love to burrow, so he's just doing what's comfortable for him. Check out the site below for more info on your new guy. You're doing a great job by setting him up with a vet appt. Soak him for 15 minutes every day just to make sure he stays hydrated, offer him good foods (romaine, endive, chicory, hibiscus, mulberry, grape leaves, etc.) and sit tight. Learn all you can about him. Dreaming about him means that you're really thinking about him, and that's a good sign. Good luck and let us know how your vet visit goes. : Yesterday I bought a Little Russian. 24hrs later he has yet to eat. He has been hiding in his hide box and doesn't seem to want to come out. His vet appt. isn't for another week. I gave him a little soak last night. He appears to be in very good health according to all I have read. Is he just a little frightened? The little guy had me awake and dreaming about tortoises all night!!! Any advise would be greatly appreciated as he is my first tort.
