Have you had the ants identified yet? If you have not, it could be helpful in planning good defense.
Toro ant bait is esentially the same as the recipe that I gave you. It has I believe a 5% boric acid active. It is relatively safe as long as it is placed in a safe manner.

What was the insecticide that you used? I would need the name of the active ingredient to tell you the ups and downs of what you used.

I look forward to your response.

: I have been having a problem with what we call sugar ants. Little demons from Hell. Our entire neighbor hood is over run by them> Because we had a mild winter (I live in Portland OR) they are more abundant then ever. A week or so ago they discovered my indoor habitat and invaded it. I wasn't sure what to do outside of scrapping the entire habitat and starting over from scratch.
: I recieved very good advice from the people here so I wanted to say thanks!!!
: My solution was to use a pesticide outside the confines of the habitat to stop the ants from getting in, and using lemon juice to drive the ants out. And then setting ant traps (thanks Brent) to hopefully keep them away.
: Once again-- Thank you all for the advice.
