I rescued a tort from a bad situation and have no idea what kind
it is or how to care for it. It is about five inches long. It's
shields have a dark spot in the center, then are surrounded in a
yellowish brown color, with brown rings around the yellow. There
are yellow spots on the top of the shell between the other
pattern. It has a lot of yellow towards the bottom and it's
plastron is mostly yellow with some brown. It's legs and neck are
mostly yellow also. It's head is grey. It's anterior scutes are
elongated and almost flat. It resembles a Bell's Hinged in body
type, but is not the color of all the pictures I have looked at.
In one article I read about one from a different region of Africa
with a lot of yellow. What are some other distinguishing features
of these guys? Does anyone have any good links on bell's? Thanks
for the help.
