Hi Jen,
sounds good, but I still recommend that vet visit, including a stool test.
This shouldn't be overlooked for Russian tortoises.

Pine chips aren't ideal for torts, but as I don't house my torts indoors I can't really comment on substrate, somebody else will help you with that one!

Can you build her an outdoor enclosure, she would be so much happier outdoors.
In the site I linked in my previous post there are photos of outdoor and indoor habitats.
For a Russian tort I would make it at least 8'-8' bigger if you can.
The enclosure walls would need to be sunk in the ground at leat 6", so she can't dig out. I would make the walls at least a foot and a half high.
It's not too hard to build an outdoor enclosure, all you would need are fenceing boards and , wooden stakes to nail them too. If you got 12 10'-8' fencing boards, you could build a very nice outdoor enclosure.
You're going to have this tortoise for years, so the cost of around $150 isn't really that much.
When you think of all the happy months she'll spend outdoors.

Even if it's just during the day, or only during the summer months, she'll be happier and healthier for it.
Anyway, sounds like she's doing good. Russians rarely drink, in the wild they will sip from rain puddles. Soaking once or twice a week for around 10 minutes is just fine.

If you want to reach more tort keepers I would subscribe to a tortoise discussion email list.
The Tortoise Trust list is a very good one, lots of experienced Russian keepers are subscribed.
It's absolutely free and easy to unsubscribe if it's not for you.
You can subscribe from the Tortoise Trust web site. Look for a link on the left of the home page.
Hope this helps,
Terry.
