My Russian Tort was just checked (less than a month ago) for parasites. Since I have had - had him, he has always eaten like a little piggy! I have tried to listen to what you guys have posted about getting Turnip Greens (he hates Mustard Greens) and endive and escarole and romaine lettuce. I understand that Turnip Greens are very good, but since I bought these things (a couple of days ago, he seems to have slowed down on his eating - Looks like he is eating only enough to stay alive. He does still graze in the afternoons when I get home, but not as vigoursly as he did 3 days ago. I made him a dish garden from edible flowers and Annie's Pasture mix and put it in his enclosure yesterday - but so far he has not been interested. I did give him mostly endive and cacti today, he seems to like endive - so I want to see if he eats it. Won't find out until later today. He does seem to be drinking water. IT HAS BEEN EXTREMELY HOT HERE ... and sometimes my cat slows down on eating when it is so hot, but do torts do this? At what point to I have to start worrying? He is eating (just a little), and he is active. No outward signs of any disease. So now what? Another 50.00 Vet bill? or worse?? Any advice or testimonials would be so much appreciated. Thanks!
