I agree with the other posts. Crushed walnut,
besides being abrasive is not something you
want your tort to eat any of. It's called
"Lizard Litter" and is suitable for some
reptiles, just wouldn't use it for torts.
There are other types of "Lizard Litter" I
believe they make 4 types, and my favorite
is the one made of "Kenaf Plant", it's a
great substrate for tortoises, and I like it.
Looks light cream colored, and it's "soft"
comparitavely.
Calci sand is pretty expensive for any
decent sized cage (I just use it for my geckos
in a 20 gallon), that's be really cute in a
300 gallon that my tortoise has for indoors now.
