Check to see if the Wal-Mart carries Aspen, the
one here is out very quickly because a lot of
people use it. Otherwise you could go with
rabbit pellets for now. I'd discourage you from
using pine, there are veterinarians that feel
that even pine is hazardous to animals, and
it causes respiratory problems in small rodents.
Cedar, like everyone said, no way.
There's another substrate that I really like,
it's called "Lizard Litter" the one made from
Kenaf Plant (there are several varieties -
of "Lizard Litter" available for reptiles
including some you DON'T want to be using).
This is my absolute favorite actually, I try to
get large bags of it at shows, it's a tad
expensive for bigger cages. good luck, niki
