I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I think once a raccoon has carried them off (especially in an area as dense as yours sounds) you probably will not find your missing torts. I have been reading about alot of torts being 'abducted' by raccoons, or losing limbs when the raccoons are 'interrupted.' Have you thought about adopting a new dog? Of course a new one wouldn't replace the one you lost, but she should be able to scare off those nasty 'coons.
